5 APR EXERCISE DAY!
Red Cross Emcomm stations and associated repeater networks will be active from 1000 to 1200 for check-in by PA hams. All PA hams are invited to participate. A detailed frequency / repeater list will in included in the exercise plan. Units may opt to perform an ALERT earlier in the day.
Alert Procedure
A template is included below. You are welcome to use the template as is or use it as a starting point for your own procedure. It uses email, text and winlink to alert the members. You’ll need to have their email, phone # and ham calls.

Winlink Training and Shelter Status Report (FROST)
One of the exercise tasks is to take a Red Cross FROST report and send its data, as a CSV file, via Winlink. Attendees discussed that this may be new to many hams. Jeff KC3NJE and Ralph KB3UYV were interested in preparing training. I’ve sent them files to work from. You’ll hear from us if we schedule a training session(s) or provide it in some other manner.
NET Practice
Bill WW3HAM raised the issue of improving our skills at Net Control and related practices. The exercise instruction includes guidance for RCES Hosts and Participants. I’ve forwarded these pages to Bill and will discuss with him possible improvements.
Meeting Slides
A PDF of the meeting slides is attached. Please share this will all who may be interested in the SET. Corrections identified in the meeting have been applied.
Thanks
Thanks participating in this meeting. It was very productive; I got a lot of important feedback. Thanks also for your interest in the Spring SET. Its always a challenge to get multiple groups coordinated. Serving our community thorough ARES and Red Cross is a worthwhile activity.
Thanks and 73
