Please see the following documentation for the Fall 2025 SET for ARES.
For Delaware county, we will be sending out a test emergency message at 10a via email and on our Team Reach app. We will have an active net running on our W3KG Boothwyn repeater (446.775) for everyone to check in on.
You will be asked for the following information on the Net to report to our Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC):
- Your call sign
- Assessment of your interconnectivity. Including if you are active in Skywarn, NTS, TPRFN, ARDEN, Winlink, RACES, ACS, ServePA, REACT, CERT or other functions.
- Many of you can likely reach other ARES units. During the Alert, let net control know if you have reached other ARES units and which ones, and if any of those contacts were in the last month. This can be via VHF/UHF repeater, HF or Winlink (or any other digital modes).
After checking in, please also try a simplex test to K3RF on146.535 and 146.565 (programmed as the first 2 channels on the go kits, labelled as S1 and S2). Bob will be listening between 10a and noon from the radio room at the Rose Tree fire company, not too far from the 911 center.
There are also details on sending a message via Fldigi, FT8 or Winlink using the TPRFN network. I would encourage everyone that uses those digital modes to please try sending a message over that network.
