ARES of Delaware County was invited to participate in an exercise today setting up an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with the Department of Emergency Services.

Overall, it was a very good drill.  Because of experience with similar exercises in past years, we were able to use one of our all band, all modes radio go kits, W3AEC-02, which is located ready to use at the primary EOC center.  We also have a 50 foot crank up tower located in the outside courtyard which made it quick and easy to hook up both a dual band VHF/UHF antenna and a HF antenna.  We were on the air in 5 minutes.

We successfully made contact with PEMA using the PA ACS 40m frequency for daytime use.  We also successfully transmitted a digital message using Winlink as well.

Here we are, and the ICS 214 log of what we did:

Thanks to everyone that participated and helped out, especially ARES members David Ingram Kirk Thompson and Tom Barrett
