It is with a heavy heart that I write this to inform you of the recent passing of Rich Caruth after suffering a stroke a couple weeks ago. Rich has been a staple in Delaware County for many years and had given so much of his heart and time to the residents, businesses, First Responders and Veterans of Delaware County.
He showed this dedication by serving as a paramedic, a dispatcher, an EMT Instructor, and a Chaplain. He was an extremely active volunteer with the Delaware County CISM Team, the Citizen Corps of Delaware County, the Delaware County MRC, ARES of Delaware County, serving as Assistant Emergency Coordinator, and was a key member of First Responders and Veterans Confronting Chaos Over Coffee Group.
There is no doubt that Rich has played many roles within the county, but the role he loved most was that of a husband, a father, and as a friend, and he will be greatly missed. I ask that you keep Rich’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers, and to support one another, as this is a loss that many of us will deeply feel.
Services for Rich will be held at Covenant Fellowship Church, located at 1 Fellowship Drive, Glen Mills on Friday, the 28th of February 2025. Viewing will start at 10:30a with Mass to follow. There will be a reception in the lobby with light appetizers. Following the service, burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery, 325 Baltimore Pike (US Route 1), Glen Mills.
